The organizers of this exhibition aim to shed light on the pervasive influence of paper money, a force as significant as gold since the 17th century. Initially a rare convenience, paper currency has evolved into a cornerstone of modern commerce, alongside electronic transactions. Through a curated display of currency and its substitutes from the archives of the National Library of Lithuania, the exhibition traces the rich history of paper money, offering insight into its enduring impact on society and economy.
