Lithuanian Theatre, Music and Cinema Museum, together with the INCONVENIENT FILMS festival and the collaborative project NK-DOKU, aims to raise questions about community and invite visitors to experience virtual and documentary reality.
The recently opened spaces of the Muzeoteka will host the virtual reality experience “Impulse” (dir. May Abdalla, Barry Gene Murphy | France | 2024 | English | 40 min.), which tells the story of four people at the extremes of ADHD. Symbols, shadows and surfaces of reality will be the starting points of a vivid imagination, allowing us to experience the ways in which this often mentioned syndrome works and the feelings it evokes.
After the viewings, we will travel to Brazil to meet the gangs that produce giant paper balloons in the film “Balomania” (dir. Sissel Morell Dargis | Denmark, Spain | 2023 | Portuguese with Lithuanian and English subs. | 93 min.). While groups of balloonists compete to create the biggest and most spectacular balloon, the police follow their trail and hunt them down as the biggest criminals. Having earned the trust of the balloon gangs, the filmmaker crafts a gripping tale of brotherhood on the margins of society and the importance of an inspiring and supportive community in one’s life.
This programme of events aims to provide an opportunity to experience high quality documentary content and to invite people to build empathetic relationships in society. And with the NK-DOKU project, we invite people from different communities to come together for their own cultural night!
